Kaeja d’Dance is seeking a Managing Director to partner with the Co-Artistic Directors to fulfill the artistic vision of the company. This is an exciting opportunity for an arts professional to work with one of Canada’s established and vibrant contemporary dance companies.

This position (25 to 40 hours per week) will provide opportunities for a knowledgeable, ambitious individual to take on a leading role in the development of the Company’s continuity and new initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, self-directed problem solver, a team player and has at least 3 years working experience in the Non-profit Arts Sector. The candidate has exceptional good judgement and a commitment to the audience and donor experience. Edmonton, AB – Part-Time Dance Instructors

dancED Movement Project is looking to hire part-time dance instructors for various upcoming contracts throughout the 17/18 school year.

About dancED:
dancED Movement Project offers engaging one to two week dance focused artist-in-residence programs for students. Professional dancers work with each class to teach movement fundamentals, explore movement creation, and rehearse a comprehensive and challenging dance routine. All programs finish with the highly anticipated final showcase where students perform for their peers, parents and teachers in a full-scale production. 

Currently, dancED Movement Project delivers two main program options to capture the diversity of today’s dance and performance spectrum:

  • Hip-Hop: This program is fun and upbeat with a strong focus on quality of movement and musicality. Students will learn what makes hip-hop unique from other forms of dance: sharpness of movement, rhythm and attitude.
  • Broadway: Each class will perform a routine from a wide range of Broadway musicals such as Jersey Boys, Hairspray, Anything Goes, Mamma Mia, Wicked and West Side Story to name a few.  This program focuses on theatricality and expression.

Job Details:

We are looking to hire instructors for various one, two or three-week contracts throughout the 17/18 school year 

  • most residencies focus on elementary grades (kindergarten-grade 6), however some include junior high as well
  • guaranteed 6-7 hours of instruction each day (on an 8:30am-3:30pm basis)
  • pay starts at $25/hour
  • we are looking for highly energetic, enthusiastic and organized instructors with extensive dance training as well as a strong performance background.
  • extensive experience working with children ranging from 5-12 years old is required

Edmonton/ Sherwood Park/ RedDeer, AB – Part-Time Dance Instructors

At BrightPath Kids we have GREAT kids that are entrusted to our care.

We are looking for enthusiastic Part Time Dance Instructors for our West Henday (Edmonton), Sherwood Park and Red Deer Centres for daytime classes.

To be successful at BrightPath you have:

  • A passion for working with children from 2.5 to 5 years of age
  • Strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents
  • Demonstrated our philosophy - Develop the Mind. Nourish the Body.  Inspire the Soul.
  • Demonstrated skills working as a team and enjoy a team environment
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  •  Over 2 years of teaching experience strongly preferred
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate
  • Childcare certification an asset
  • A variety of expertise in all dance forms – ballet, hip hop, tap
  • Comfortable with teaching children at a young age
  • Comfortable and able to communicate with parents
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to motivate others, is a must

Edmonton, AB – Ballet Instructor – RAD (or comparable accreditation)

Celtic Ceilidh Dance Academy: We are looking for instructors to join our terrific enthusiastic and committed clan. You must enjoy collaborating with others to provide the best program for our dancers.The successful candidates will have strong organization and communication skills and a passion for learning as well as teaching.

Requirements:

  • Accreditation in RAD or comparable, recognized syllabus.
  • Experience with teaching all grades and ages from beginner to advanced including pointe.
  • Understanding or appreciation of Celtic dance and music will be a definite asset.
  • Ability to choreograph routines for performance and competition.
  • Ability to prepare candidates for exams -if requested.

The hourly wage for this contract position is determined based on education and experience. If you are looking to join a team and create your own legacy, we want to hear from you. This is not for teachers looking for a short or temporary contract.

Grand Prairie, AB – Dance Instructors

I am looking for teaching graduates that would consider employment in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The position would ideally suit RAD registered teachers although it is not a prerequisite. Teachers also able to teach other disciplines such as Modern, Jazz, Tap, Acro or Hip Hop would be greatly desirable. If necessary, room and boarding may be arranged. This position would commence in August or September 2017.

The GP Dancer's Academy has been operating in Grande Prairie for over 27 years. The position could be from 25–35 hours per week depending on the candidate's abilities. Competitive choreography would be in addition to the regular classes. Compensation would be between $30 and $40 per hour depending on experience.
