Let feats expand your dance vocabulary. Grab your thesaurus, exercise your mind and discover new ways to talk about dance.

At the junction of word-driven thought and human motion lives the effervescent world of dance. Join feats and live the passion of Alberta's best professional and recreational dance artists in a weeklong celebration of movement.  Let your mind expand beyond the limits of spoken language and enter a world that can be shared only through this most precise vocabulary of gesture. Read about us in The Edmonton Journal!

feats – Festival of Dance is a multi-disciplinary dance festival in Edmonton, Alberta. The festival is designed to celebrate and present superb Canadian talent with a special focus on the Alberta dance community. feats Festival offers a wide-range of exciting and exhilarating performances to our audience. We bring forward various perspectives of dance, by presenting everything from traditional folk and contemporary works to the most unusual and brilliant movement performances. During the festival we host featured events and programs of education and awareness, as well as open public workshops, family events, and professional performances.

Building upon last year's success of broadcasting the feats performances live over the Internet, we are now streaming even more live dance online so you can keep your out-of-town friends and colleagues involved in the action. Streaming content will be shared over our @ABDanceAlliance twitter feed and on our Facebook page. Follow and join us to be notified of when the next event will be available online!  To check out all the feats broadcasts go to our uStream page for a schedule.

For many choreographers, making dance is a need driven by their passion to create. The movement motivates their creativity and they find their greatest potential for expression through the unique elements of dance.

Making dance come alive requires inspiration, determination and honed skill. Choreographers translate their imagination into dancers' bodies and shape it into a dance that is ready to be performed.

Live-Feed is an evening presentation of work in the raw state. Hosted by a facilitator, the presentation reveals the choreographic process of some of the most talented dance makers in Alberta.

Your ticket includes a reception.

Presented in partnership with the Good Women Dance Collective.

A KO Dance Project in Partnership with the Community Presentationat feats - Festival of Dance

Promotional Flyer

Misbehaving as her artistic mandate, maverick local dance artist KO is taking the PROPER out of city property and gearing up for some summertime artistic mischief.

“human gardens and untamed minds,” is a new premiere dance piece by the KO Dance Project and it’s taking urban design to a whole new level.

Inspired by the activist movement Guerilla Gardening— beautifying cities with personal acts of spontaneous gardening, this impulsive traveling dance show, will take live theatre where it needs it most - into the forgotten cement spaces of our downtown core, appearing and disappearing as quickly as it takes the cops to show up!

“It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission!”

With lights and sound instead of shovels, and whirling dancers instead of perennials, these guerilla dance gardens will be planted in the wild outdoors of our city’s downtown core.

Having recently returned from performing in Marseille, France and Rome, Italy, KO was struck by the spirit of imagination in europe’s urban spaces - where artists wild minds create cities for humans and not just cars.

“human gardens and untamed minds” will transplant some of that beauty, setting up a wild theatrical adventure loose on the streets and leaving Edmonton’s downtown never the same again!
